Dr. Scott Forney, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology), is a highly qualified veterinary cardiologist with a wealth of experience and expertise. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, earning a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 1999. Following that, he obtained his veterinary degree from the same university in 2004.
Dr. Forney’s commitment to professional growth led him to pursue further training and specialization in cardiology. He completed a small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University, gaining valuable experience in various areas of veterinary medicine. Subsequently, he undertook a rigorous 3-year cardiology residency at the California Animal Hospital in West Los Angeles, California. This intensive training allowed him to develop advanced skills and knowledge in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases in animals. With his extensive qualifications and training, Dr. Forney has become a trusted expert in his field. He is highly skilled in diagnosing and managing heart-related conditions in both dogs and cats. His clinical interests encompass various aspects of cardiology, including the medical management of chronic heart disease, echocardiography (using ultrasound to evaluate heart structure and function), and providing education to both clients and veterinary professionals.
Dr. Forney’s passion for his work extends beyond the veterinary realm. In his free time, he enjoys sports, live music, tennis, and golf. As a devoted fan, he supports teams such as the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and the Vegas Golden Knights. Dr. Forney cherishes spending quality time and traveling with his wife, with whom he has been happily married for over 19 years, and their two sons.
Originally from Martinez, Georgia, Dr. Forney currently resides in Boulder City, Nevada. Since 2008, he has been providing exceptional cardiology care to his patients in the Las Vegas area. Dr. Forney’s commitment to delivering the highest quality of care is evident in his extensive qualifications, dedication to ongoing education, and passion for improving the health and well-being of animals.
