
Dr. Scott Forney, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology), is a board-certified veterinary cardiologist with extensive training and experience in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease in dogs and cats. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 1999, followed by his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the same institution in 2004.
After veterinary school, Dr. Forney pursued advanced clinical training through a small animal rotating internship at North Carolina State University, where he gained broad experience across multiple disciplines. He then completed a rigorous three-year cardiology residency at California Animal Hospital in West Los Angeles, California, where he developed advanced expertise in echocardiography and the medical management of complex cardiac disease. He achieved board certification in veterinary cardiology in 2009.
Dr. Forney’s clinical interests include the long-term medical management of chronic heart disease, advanced echocardiographic assessment of cardiac structure and function, and client and professional education. He is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care and works closely with referring veterinarians to ensure continuity and clarity in patient management.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Forney enjoys sports, live music, tennis, and golf. He is an avid supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and the Vegas Golden Knights. He values time spent traveling with his wife, to whom he has been married for more than 21 years, and their two sons.
Originally from Martinez, Georgia, Dr. Forney now resides in Boulder City, Nevada. He has been providing cardiology services to the Las Vegas area since 2008. His dedication to high-quality, evidence-based care is reflected in his extensive training, continued professional development, and commitment to improving the lives of his patients and the families who care for them.
